Employers would not be allowed to test prospective employees for marijuana under a bill approved by the Washington, D.C. Council.
The Associated Press reports that the bill wouldn’t allow employers to test prospective employees for marijuana until after they’ve made a conditional job offer.
The bill would allow employers to test for pot after they offer someone a job as well as during employment. Because it’s a local law, it doesn’t apply to the federal government or to federal contractors.
The D.C. measure allows residents to possess up to two ounces and to grow up to three mature plants in their homes but does not allow commercial sales.
